and Other Western Stories
LEWIS B. HORNE
Paperback. 192 Pages. / 1-56085-040-X / $14.95

Doyle Owen "Dob" Bond is a popular humorist whose slight build and dour looks win him chuckles even before he speaks. His wife Ellen is an unhappy Mormon housewife. Little do they know trudging through the snow one evening that fate—and instinct—are about to take them on a long flight south.

Through the eyes of these and other Utah and Arizona characters, Lewis Horne delicately probes the byways of the human heart, exploring small-town roots and urban dreams. In nostalgic self-revelation, Horne bares his, and his readers', own souls in the process.

Lewis B. HorneLewis B. Horne was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. He received a B.A. from Arizona State University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from University of Michigan. Henry Awards; San Jose Studies; Saskatchewan Gold; and Virginia Quarterly Review. Since 1971 he has been a professor of English at University of Saskatchewan.
