Journal of Mormon History
This is the professional journal of Mormon studies. As an outlet for research by university professors and specialists, its emphasis is on scholarship. The field includes traditional nineteenth- and twentieth-century topics, but also regional and local history, women's studies, and ethnic/minority issues. Articles are screened for accuracy, originality, and literary quality, and the editors encourage interpretative over strictly expositional writing.

Recent articles have considered such topics as labor issues during construction of the Logan temple, marriage customs among Maori Mormons, the experiences of sister missionaries, the life of Mormon gunsmith Benjamin Winchester, and the legal career of church attorney Franklin Richards. There are also book reviews, letters, speeches by prominent historians, and essays on historiography and the pursuit of knowledge.

The journal is a semi-annual publication of the Mormon History Association. For information about membership, annual meetings, and other activities, contact:

Annual dues is $45.00 ($125.00 for a sustaining membership, $250.00 as a Patron of Mormon History, and $500 as a Donor). Membership should be arranged through MHA directly, not through Signature Books.
