This year we are releasing two new titles (six volumes in all) under our Smith-Pettit imprint (the Smith-Pettit Foundation being our sister company). The six are:

These are limited editions and (nota bene) sell out quickly. The Collected Discourses series makes available every known published and previously unpublished discourse, speech, and teaching of Brigham Young, second president of the LDS Church. The texts are drawn from the following manuscript collections at LDS Church Archives: Brigham Young Addresses, Brigham Young Minutes, Brigham Young Diaries, Brigham Young Office and Secretary Journals, Thomas Bullock Minutes, William Richards Diary, John D. Lee Journals, and Heber C. Kimball Journals, as well as from the "History of Brigham Young," "Journal History of the Church," Deseret News, History of the Church, Journal of Discourses, and Millennial Star. We will post more information about this set of five volumes in the fall, anticipating a November release date.

In addition to these new titles, we are adding old titles to our library site (Signature Books Library). Through 2009 we plan to add the complete text of 36 new titles, bringing our total number of online books to 60. Here is our progress thus far this year on our library site:

Titles added to our library site since January: Church, State, and Politics: The Diaries of John Henry Smith (underway), Faithful History: Essays on Writing Mormon History, Haste: Poems, Leaving the Fold: Candid Conversations with Inactive Mormons, Letters from Exile: The Correspondence of Martha Hughes Cannon, Lucy's Book: A Critical Edition of Lucy Mack Smith's Family Memoir, Multiply and Replenish: Mormon Essays on Sex and Family, Srangers in Paradox: Explorations in Mormon Theology, On the Potter's Wheel: The Diaries of Heber C. Kimball
Titles added to our website which recently have been proofed. In addition to scanning in and formatting the books, we are proofing them after the fact for typographical (scanning) errors, as follows: Brigham Young University: A House of Faith , History and Faith: Reflections of a Mormon Historian, Matters of Conscience: Conversations with Sterling M. McMurrin, Memories and Reflections, Neither White Nor Black: Mormon Scholars Confront the Race Issue (underway), Remembering Brad: On the Loss of a Son to AIDS (underway), Saints without Halos, and more soon.
Titles added to our website, to which the photos, maps, and charts have been added. Our final step in making books available to readers on our library website is to add photographs, maps, and other images from the books. We have completed this step for the following: Brigham Young University: A House of Faith, Establishing Zion: The Mormon Church in the American West, Joseph Smith's Response to Skepticism, Letters from Exile: The Correspondence of Martha Hughes Cannon, Memories and Reflections: The Autobiography of E. E. Ericksen, Mormons and Jews: Early Mormon Theologies of Israel, Multiply and Replenish: Mormon Essays on Sex and Family, New Approaches to the Book of Mormon, Remembering Brad: On the Loss of a Son to AIDS, View of the Hebrews, Women and Authority: Re-emerging Mormon Feminism, and more to come.
Titles soon to be added to our website: Black Saints in a White Church: African American Mormons, A Book of Mormons, Bright Angels and Familiears: Contemporary Mormon Stories, Culture Clash and Accommodation: Public Schooling in Utah, Early Patriarchal Blessings of the LDS Church, God the Mother and Other Theological Essays, Imagination Comes to Breakfast: Poems, "In Our Lovely Deseret": Mormon Fictions, The Last Chance Canal Company, The Lost Plates of Laman, A Ministry of Meetings: The Apostolic Diaries of Rudger Clawson, Oh My Heck!
